Martha Stewart Basics

So I started studying I guess you can call it.  I read the first section of Martha's Cooking school book yesterday.  Here are the sections that were covered
Eventually I will be completing EVERY lesson that is in this book but for now this is what I will be doing out of the first section, just cause it's stuff I had to do anyway.  But I'll be sure to follow it step by step from the book so I can learn the proper technique.

1.  Sort & Sharpen my kitchen knives (later this week)
2.  Toast & Grind some spices (later this week)
3.  Chop & Caramelize Onions
4.  Peeling & Crushing Garlic

The lesson I learned from this section:  If you are going to buy fresh cut herbs at the store you need to store them in water at room temperature, having them on the counter will also remind you to use them.  Before I read this I almost had it right.  I used to store them in water in the fridge.
