Homemade Breadcrumbs
July 30, 20110 Comments
So simple and great to know how to make if you're out some night and you need 'em.  Toast some bread, whatever you have laying around, add it and some herbs to your food processor and done.

Threw this together the other night.  Too bad we were out of vanilla ice cream.  I totally forgot to brush an egg wash before baking so the crust isn't as dark as it should be.

Spinach Artichoke Lasagna
July 29, 20110 Comments
I had made some fried Won Tons the other night (sorry no pics) and had some spinach artichoke filling leftover so I decided to smother some lasagna we were heating up for dinner in it along with some more sauce.  I had some leftover herb dough from the flat bread I had made so I fried it up and baked it with some parm cheese in the oven until melted.  It was pretty tasty for a "leftovers" dinner.

These are so simple and one of my favorite new summer sides.  All you add is an egg, 4 T flour and I've been throwing in breadcrumbs and some grated parm cheese.

Zucchini & Grilled Onion Flat Bread

So Zucchini was on sale this week and since I love it I grabbed a bunch.  I've been searching for ideas on how to use it and we had a friend over for dinner the other night so it motivated me and I came up with 3 ways to use it for dinner.

Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread

This is a favorite of ours, I didn't use that much butter this time and you could tell.  It was a little dryer than I liked it. (Sorry the picture is a little dark, it was a little overcast when I took it)

Cupcakes
February 16, 20110 Comments
Finally had a minute to myself and decided it was time to finally use my mixer. Made sugar cookie dough and a dozen cupcakes decorated in the valentines day theme, Vanilla cake filled with Raspberry Jam and Fudge. Since I wanted to post a picture of my latest project and I don't have my computer back yet, you'll have to wait to see the nicer shots from my camera.

So Wrong
January 11, 20110 Comments
I heard about this cookbook and I'm sorry but I find it totally gross.  Below is the description that was on the website as a description of what you'll find inside.

Semen is not only nutritious, but it also has a wonderful texture and amazing cooking properties. Like fine wine and cheeses, the taste of semen is complex and dynamic. Semen is inexpensive to produce and is commonly available in many, if not most, homes and restaurants. Despite all of these positive qualities, semen remains neglected as a food. This book hopes to change that. Once you overcome any initial hesitation, you will be surprised to learn how wonderful semen is in the kitchen. Semen is an exciting ingredient that can give every dish you make an interesting twist. If you are a passionate cook and are not afraid to experiment with new ingredients - you will love this cook book!

Still trying to clear out my pantry, that's the good thing about having a large reserve I've been trying to clear it out for months!  I used up some sauce we had in the fridge and Pete grabbed some sausage for me on his way home and this is what we came up with.

Pot Roast

So we planned on Pot Roast about a week ago and it turned out great.  We had it in the Crock Pot for 7 hours, I think I started it at noon.  It could have used a little more time but it was still pretty tender.  Everybody ate so fast I didn't take a pic until seconds.

Another something that I whipped up.  Next time I hope I can make it with homemade dough.  The pecans I added really added the crunch it needed.

More Christmas Gifts
January 02, 20110 Comments
Merry Christmas to me!  I got my standmixer and set it up right away and took a few shots.  I have to say it looks good on the counter.

Julie sent me an amazing cookbook that I can't wait to dive into.

And even Andy was putting his gift to good use by rocking the Snuggie as intended, lounging on the couch.

I had to take my favorite picture off the box since I couldn't find it anywhere online.
