A Crazy ex-band member stormed into a dressing room and slashed two members of his former band, the Cro-Mags, with a hunting knife before a gig.
Harley Flanagan, 42, former bassist, and one of its founders, and a Jiu-Jitsu expert, was taken down by security and suffered a broken leg, before police handcuffed him to a chair.
This commercial is hilarious! First of all I don't know how he's stopping the music by turning a volume knob on the console, but the best line is "Well you said write from the heart." "Yeah don't do that", So funny and So true!
Now that's rocking out. 10-year-old Yuto Miyazawa played Crazy Train with Ozzy during an Ozzfest stop in Connecticut. That guitar looks so big on him but boy does he know how to play.
This is a little old, so I'm not sure if it's been resolved BUT as of June 30th such classics as The Wall, Animals and Wish you were Here were taken off the internet for sale since the bands distribution deal with EMI ended. I don't know why their reps waited until it expired to renegotiate.
On August 14th Heritage Auctions' will be holding an Elvis Presley Auction at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN.
His White Kanbe Grand Piano is being auctioned and is expected to sell for around 1 million dollars. I would love to get my hands on the original 1955 RCA contract. That would be an awesome addition to our studio. I'll have to check after the auction to see how much it went for.
This week Mark David Chapman, the man that shot John Lennon, will be up for his 6th parole hearing on his 20 to life prison term. Yoko Ono, Lennon's widow, is fighting to keep him behind bars.
In a letter she sent to the parole board she is quoted as saying:
'"I am afraid it will bring back the nightmare, the chaos and confusion once again. Myself and John's two sons would not feel safe for the rest of our lives."
They should just keep him locked up for life. Isn't that what's supposed to happen when you kill rock royalty?
Hugh Laurie, known for his role on House, is releasing a Blues Album through Warner Music Group.
He's quoted as saying: 'I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started.'
I personally can't wait to hear it. I don't watch House all the often but when I do I get hooked on the episode immediately. Anyway, lots of people mention his guitar playing, that I don't remember, so at least he's a real musician. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
I was watching a re-run of SNL the other night and I have to say that I think this is one of the funnier skits I've seen on it in awhile. This was the only video I could find of it anywhere so sorry for the background noise. I love the line "I'm not upset, I'm angry!"
So we got tickets to the Pepper/Offspring/311 show at Red Rocks the other night, thanks Saint! Anyway, Pete had to work so he got home and we headed down to Golden for the show. I've been dying to get there and of course it was pissing rain.
We picked up our tickets but we needed to meet up with Pepper after their set for our backstage passes. We headed up the steps to watch their set. I've only seen them once before but they always go a great show.
I have to say that this is the most gorgeous place to go and see a show. As you can see it was pretty packed by the time we looked for seats but it was a good angle for a shot of the stage.
It's only polite when waiting for free passes to be patient. I learned a very important lesson that day. Never try to look cute for an outdoor concert in Colorado in inclement weather. I thought that my wedges were a great idea and very practical but my back is still throbbing and it was Tuesday night that we went. I had Pete take a picture but it was raining so hard it came out horrible. I looked like a drowned rat in heels. I can't believe I wasted time straightening my hair. Lesson learned, but still a good time.
When we got backstage I tried to take a few shots from the sound booth but it was hard and with that much equipment and water I didn't need to get electrocuted.
The crowd was huge
This is the rock that surrounds the backstage area. It was hard to get a shot since we were so close up.
But it's breathtaking at night
The Offspring were great. They played all their hits and I've never seen them live before.
I took a quick video but since the lights are facing us there really isn't much to see but you can hear some of it.
Here is 311 at the start of their set. All in all a pretty good night out.
After living in NYC, Brooklyn to be exact, for the last 10 years my husband Pete and I decided to give it all up to move out west and be ski bums. Now that we are almost completely unpacked I've decided to document some of our Colorado adventures.
