Easter Dinner: Glazed Ham with Pineapple, Scalloped Potatoes, Creamed Spinach & Rolls
Here's the Ham getting ready for the oven
Here is the glaze, after 2 hours in the oven I'm finally ready to put it on
Here it is after it's been all slathered up
I threw some pineapples on there and baked it another 20 minutes
The baked pineapple is my favorite part
Here is some of the pan gravy
I started the scalloped potatoes yesterday, I sliced up my potatoes
Greased a baking dish
and layered my sliced potatoes and seasoned flour
I started boiling some milk to add to the pan so I could get it in the oven and baked it until the potatoes were soft
Today I added to what was done yesterday, here is my roux for the base of my cream sauce
I topped my baked potatoes with the caramelized onions from my cooking school post
and then i poured in my cheese sauce
Here is the finished product
I had picked up some multi-grain rolls this week at the store and wanted to use them with dinner
and creamed spinach, from a box for the moment. I can't wait to try the recipe from Martha's cookbook. It's one of our favorites to eat.
Here is a shot of my plate
For dessert Strawberry Shortcake, the Bisquick version, same as Vandeline's. Here is the dough before it went in the oven. This was the 2nd attempt I didn't read the adjustments for higher altitudes. It's something that I really need to do every time.
I sliced and sugared my strawberries and put them in the fridge
Here are the short cakes nice and brown
and the final product with whip cream
