So as you all can see I did a bit of Bethenny themed reading recently to come up with these last three posts. I read an "interview" she gave before Naturally Thin was published. Definitely before the name was settled on because it was refereed to as 'The Thin Book: The 25 Rules to Being Thin Without Ever Dieting Again.'
She mentioned 5 tips that I plan on focusing on for the next few weeks to kick of my spring/summer exercise plan, well once the bike is taken care of. But I'm trying to take baby steps and make permanent changes. Already the majority of our daily foods are organic or all natural. Giving up caffeine I thought was huge and I think living a more active lifestyle here will be for the best.
Here are the tips:
1. Don’t eat everything on your plate - This is a hard one but I've been very conscious about
my portion size so if I do eat everything it isn't too bad.
2. Load up on veggies - This has been no problem. I try to use them everywhere.
3. Use fresh ingredients for flavor - I've really been enjoying making big meals from scratch
and freezing it for a quick/healthy dinner when I don't have time to cook.
4. Simply substitute - I think this is what she calls the 'differential' now, meaning cut
calories when it doesn't matter much to you. Sour cream/Milk are always low cal here.
5. Don’t be afraid to experiment - This is something I'm working on. I hate wasting money on
food and if I'm not sure how to cook them or what to put them in, it usually goes bad
before I get to it. So I stick to what I know but Martha is helping with that.
