The music on the radio was just perfect for this video.  Thank goodness they were driving so slow or I never would have been able to get the video.

Idaho Springs

So a few weeks back we headed back to Idaho Springs and Pete wanted to stop and see how the rapids were on clear creek.  The water was super high, higher than I ever saw it last year.  We even waited around to see the rafters come by.  It was cold that day and I wouldn't have wanted to be in the water, even with a wet suit.

Here is a shot of the rapids....

Here are the rafters.....

Flooded Roads

This was the cover of the Summit Daily yesterday.  Now all roads that lead to Rte 9 from our house are closed and flooded.  Thank goodness they are using the ski free parking lot as a detour so I can still get to work.

Dog the Bounty Hunter Comes to Breck
July 14, 20110 Comments
So this was something that I saw in the paper yesterday.  Turns out that my friend Alex's brother was there when it happened.  I found some video that was taken and posted to TMZ.  Article below is from the Summit Daily.

Witnesses say two local men were assaulted Thursday night in Breckenridge by bodyguards of Duane “Dog” Chapman, a bounty hunter featured on a popular A&E network TV series, after Chapman's group barged into the restaurant where they were eating.

Witnesses said one local man needed 15 stitches and another walked away with a black eye following the altercation between several locals and Chapman's bodyguards at La Montana Linda restaurant and cantina in Breckenridge.

Breckenridge police say they're still investigating the incident to see if a crime was committed and would not provide any additional information while the case is open. No charges have been filed.

Local witnesses said the fight broke out when Chapman and his bodyguards entered the restaurant through the back door, looking for the owner's father, who had allegedly jumped bail.

Chapman reportedly began “intimidating,” and “pushing around” the restaurant owner's mother, witnesses said, causing several friends of the owner's family to get involved.

“He started pushing her around and got in her face in her own kitchen,” said Breckenridge resident Josh Moses, who says he was assaulted during the altercation. “We didn't want anything to get physical, we were just telling them they needed to get out of there. We never swung back or anything, we were just there protecting our friends and family.”

Two witnesses reported one of the bodyguards claimed he could hurt them without facing charges because he was a “super star.”

They said the physical fight broke out when one of the bodyguards punched a local man in the face. The altercation became a brawl in the middle of the restaurant, with chairs and tables being knocked over. At one point someone allegedly sprayed one of Chapman's bodyguards with a liquid cleaning solution, witnesses said, before everyone moved outside and the altercation began to draw notice from the patrons of nearby restaurants.

“Everybody moves outside … and everybody's telling these guys to leave … that he can't just come into our town and do that,” Moses said.

Outside, Moses described the scene as a riot. Someone allegedly threw dirt on one of the bodyguards, inciting another scuffle before the bodyguard reportedly drew a Taser gun, Moses said.

Chapman's group got into a car and left the scene not long after, but was stopped by police nearby, Moses said.

Contrary to witness accounts, Breckenridge police said only one person was assaulted.

Moses said he is pursuing a civil suit.

At press time, Chapman did not appear to have made a statement regarding the incident.

So this was our dog last week. Petes boss went out of town and asked us to dog sit. Sophie is so sweet and the only thing that got us was the 6:30 wake up calls to go out. But it was fun having a dog around.
